The Cornford Carrera is low enough in power to get those searing solo sounds in either the home or studio, but it has the balls to work as a great small gigging amp. Such a versatile amp - you just switch the tubes around & all of a sudden it's like owning a new amp!

Unlike most modern tube amps, the Cornford Carrera features a Class A tube power section & is hand wired point to point, rather than using PCB's (printed circuit boards). This ensures that you get the absolute purest tube tone out of your tube amplifier.

This is a 1x12 Celestion Vintage 30 loaded combo, with a 5-8 Watt, all tube, class A amp section, perfect for home and studio applications. All point to point hand soldered wiring, no PCB's in sight and full of fantastic guitar tones. 5 to 8 watts output, depending on the output valve used. Output stage is 1x9 pin valve base suitable for an EL84/6BQ5 valve, switchable to 1x8 pin Octal valve base suitable for any of the following valves - 6V6, 6L6/588, EL34, KT66, KT77, or KT88/6550.

The Cornford Carrera comes with 1xEL84 and 1x6V6 as standard. The preamp is 3x12AX7's as standard, interchangeable with ECC81/12AT7, EC882/12AU7, ECC803 and ECC83/12AX7 in any combination

TYPE: All valve, single channel, single ended Class A combo with solid-state rectification. Covered in Custom-made ox-blood vinyl. 

OUTPUT POWER:  5 to 8 Watts - depending on the output valve used.

POWER VALVES: 1 x 9 pin valve base suitable for EL84/6BQ5, switchable to 1 x 8 pin octal valve base suitable for 6V6, 6L6/5881, EL34, KT66, KT77, KT88/6550. The Carrera comes with 1xEL84 and 1x 6V6 as standard. Switch to standby and leave for 10 seconds before switching valve bases.

PREAMP VALVES: 3 x 12AX7s as standard, interchangeable with ECC81 / 12AT7 / ECC82 / 12AU7 / ECC803 / ECC83 / 12AX7 in any combination.

TOP PANEL: From left to right:
Hi and lo inputs, Effects send and return, gain, reverb, bass, middle, treble and master volume. 8/9 pin output valve switch, standby and mains on off switches.

BOTTOM PANEL: Extension speaker socket, for 8 or 16 ohm extension cab (can be used with in conjunction with the internal speaker). Slave output, switchable output and preamp valves.

ACCESSORIES: No.

EFFECTS LOOP: Valve powered effects loop.

HARDWARE: All corners, screws, cup washers, handle fixings etc. nickel plated. 16 gauge fully welded, powder coated chassis. Leather handle. Black cloth grille piped in cream.

CONSTRUCTION: Totally handbuilt and point-to-point hand wired in the UK. No PCBs Of any sort.

TRANSFORMERS: Custom designed in house and hand wound.

SPEAKER(S): Single 12" Celestion Vintage 30, 8 ohm. 

REVERB: Valve powered reverb (Accutronics 3-spring tank).

FOOTSWITCH: No.

CABINET: Solid pine with ply baffle board permanently dadoed into Cabinet.
